Last night, Josh and I went to the Mobile, AL Pride art walk! Josh runs a booth for Glamazon and we’ve gone for the last three years.

One of my favorite things about the Mobile Pride is that the city doesn’t do an official parade. Instead, there’s a march. Everyone is allowed to participate and walk the streets waving flags and banners. Instead of having corporate organizations parade down the blocked street and toss candy, everyone gets to show solidarity.

To me, it feels like community. Everyone around me is smiling, wearing rainbows, and is happy to be there. We wave giant flags and share our Pride. It feels different being in the crowd walking down the street rather than as an onlooker.

The event was beautiful and, as always, was exhausting! After everything finished and we packed up the tent, we went to B-Bob’s for a drink. Within 10 minutes of sitting at the bar, a drunk woman came up to Josh, slapped a temporary tattoo on his shoulder, and poured a beer down his arm.

We didn’t quite know what to do. She peeled off the tattoo to reveal that it had not stuck to his skin. She forgot to pull the plastic cover sheet off the tattoo! πŸ˜‚ We were a little dumbfounded by the randomness of the situation.

Anyways, it turned out to be a great day! Happy Pride Y’all! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ
