Last night before I went to bed, I listened to Kyle Gott’s YouTube video “Set Goals to Achieve Your Goals“. He talks about his own goals, how they change, and why it’s important to constantly set new goals. Although the video is long, the content is interesting to hear.

I’ve gone through a slump for the last week. My energy level is low and I’m exhausted even with 8+ hours of sleep each night. The normal tactics I use for clearing my mind aren’t working either. Usually I go for a walk or run or cook a good meal to help with focusing. I’m just going to call this week a doozy.

Sitting down to write has been especially difficult. I know what I want to say but I have a hard time getting it out there. Every fiber of my being wants to stop writing and do something else. Yet, it’s BLOGtober, so I have to sit and create.

I don’t mean to complain. This slump will pass and hopefully it will do so quickly. I’m not unhappy either. It’s just difficult to do the stuff that I want to do. My body wants to sit around and watch movies while my mind wants to do something that is more challenging and exciting.

Maybe some of you are going through it too or have gone through it in the past. I’m trying to find a solution. Sitting down and actually writing doesn’t seem to help. I’ll spend an hour writing and feel discontent over what I’ve created. Then I’ll scrap it and start over in the same frustration.
